The nomination was revealed during the ISS Finalists Reception at the Monaco Yacht Show, held at the Yacht Club de Monaco, where this year’s finalists were announced ahead of the awards gala. Judged by a peer panel of industry professionals, the ISS Design & Leadership Awards have recognised outstanding achievement in yacht design and construction since 1990 and are among the most respected accolades in the sector.

Ursus represents a remarkable transformation, completing an extensive two-year rebuild at Balk Shipyard in close collaboration with Studio Mulder Design, which provided both naval architecture and design throughout the project. The brief was to preserve the charm of the original yacht while extending the hull by six metres to create additional space and significantly enhance its capabilities.

The result introduced a redesigned beach club, a new seating area in the bow, additional crew facilities, a twin anchor system and upgraded diesel-electric propulsion, all while maintaining a coherent design that stays true to the vessel’s character.
