M/Y Ursus represents a remarkable transformation, completing an extensive rebuild project at Balk Shipyard with naval architecture and design by Mulder Design. Relaunched in 2025, this complex undertaking culminated in a stunning relaunch that showcases what can be achieved when preserving a yacht’s original charm while significantly enhancing its capabilities.

The recognition celebrates the yacht’s extensive two-year rebuild at Balk Shipyard, carried out in close collaboration with Mulder Design, which provided naval architecture and design throughout the project. The transformation added six metres to the hull, introduced diesel-electric pods, a redesigned beach club and new crew facilities — all while preserving the character of the original vessel.

Organised by Boat International and judged exclusively by current and former superyacht owners, the World Superyacht Awards are widely considered the industry’s most prestigious recognition programme.
