Neptunes
Mulder Design has played a pivotal role in creating some of Neptunus Yachts’ most celebrated models during the early 1990s. Their collaboration with this renowned Holland-based shipyard has resulted in vessels that combined seaworthiness, comfort, and timeless styling—hallmarks of the Dutch yacht-building tradition.

Beginning with the Neptunus 168 Flybridge in 1991, Mulder Design has established a design language that would define the shipyard’s offerings throughout the decade. This 18.6-meter aluminum-hulled motoryacht showcased Mulder’s ability to balance performance and livability in a mid-sized cruiser. Powered by twin 680hp MAN diesel engines, the 168 Flybridge demonstrated the firm’s commitment to reliable, efficient propulsion systems that would become a signature of their designs.
Four years later, Mulder Design elevated their partnership with Neptunus to new heights with the 218 model—a stunning 21.80-meter (73-foot) motoryacht that expanded on the design principles established with the 168. As both designer and naval architect for this flagship model, Mulder Design has created a vessel that offered true luxury accommodations with three ensuite staterooms and a generous 6’6″ headroom throughout the lower deck, salon, and flybridge. The 218’s hull design exemplifies Mulder’s expertise in naval architecture: the bow efficiently parts water and maintains composure in 3+ foot seas, while the twin Detroit Diesel 16V92TA engines deliver an economical 16-knot cruise at just 1600 RPMs, with a top speed of 24 knots available when needed.
