VanDutch
In contemporary yacht design, the VanDutch line represents a distinctive approach to performance cruising. Conceived by Mulder Design, these vessels embody a philosophy where clean lines meet practical engineering.
marking a technical evolution
The VanDutch 40, launched in 2008, established the foundational principles: an intelligent hull form that eliminates typical slamming and spray, composite sandwich construction for optimal strength-to-weight ratio, and adaptable interiors. At 12 meters, twin Yanmar engines deliver nearly 40 knots, while below deck, a hydraulic table transforms to accommodate eight people. The sunbed and lounge area are positioned to provide shelter underway, allowing passengers to appreciate the yacht’s sailing characteristics in comfort.
The range expanded to include the VanDutch 32, 48, and 56, each adapting the core design language to different scales. A WalkAround variant of the 40 demonstrated the concept’s versatility.
characteristic dynamic profile
The VanDutch 75, delivered in 2021, represents the culmination of this experience. At 22.6 meters, it serves as the fleet’s flagship while maintaining the essential character of its smaller siblings. The cockpit expands, volumes increase, yet the commitment to pure lines remains constant. MAN 12V engines produce 1650 horsepower for 38 knots and a 500-nautical-mile range. The interior reflects a modern art sensibility, prioritizing space and simplicity.
built for sustained use
What connects these vessels is Mulder Design’s approach: aesthetics and engineering working in concert, where performance doesn’t preclude comfort, and each model represents a considered response to how people actually use boats on the water.
